The northern access from Pande turn off (105km from Vilankulos) runs inland and parallel to the Save river for 145km to Matata entrance gate. This road is a combination of gravel and two tracks road sections which require vehicles with high clearance, however a 4 x4 is recommended and is essential in the wet season. The Park Head Quarters is about 3 ½ hours from Pande turn off.
The park can also be reached by air with a 1,000m long natural surface airstrip at the central camp for which prior landing approvals are required.
